Vinton Street Graffiti Festival

A while back i was approached by Oscar Duran (President of Deer Park Neighborhood http://deerparkomaha.blogspot.com/) to help set up a graffiti festival. After months of planning we were finally able to put it together. So at the event which took place May 12, we had mad support from all the participating and non participating artist, merchants, vendors, breakdancers, musicians, kids and the thousands of people who were there. Check out the pictures coutersy of Sam Heron, Blacksheep Photography and Dale Heise Photography....Ohh yea the mayor was there

Big thanks to all the artist who came thru and made this happen, you all know who you are. This was huge for Omaha and you all played a part in making it happen. Expect it to be much bigger and we are going to rock it again...

Street Art: Hiero-Graffiti at Joslyn Art Museum April 1st - May 6, 2012

Here are some of the pictures from the Hiero-graffiti class i taught at the Joslyn museum in Omaha (http://www.joslyn.org/shop/Street-Art-Hiero-graffiti-P451.aspx). It was a 5 week class that looked at some ancient Eygptian wall writings, discussing the similarities with mordern graffiti, also learning about its history. Then we practiced a little, goofed around. Concluded by painting and installing a mural that futured Omaha's skyline siloutte incorporating eygptian symbols..
